1969 | S.R. Jindal Trust was founded. (Later on renamed as Sitaram Jindal Foundation in 2007) |
1970 | Donations The foundation started giving donations to charitable organisations, spread across the country, serving various causes such as home for elders , education for poor, medical facilities, orphanages etc. |
1970 | Merit Scholarships / Schemes was offered for pursuing higher education to deserving meritorious students from poor families from all over the country without any discrimination of caste, creed and colour. |
1973 | The Jindal Public School, in Bangalore Rural District was setup by Jindal Education Society. This English medium school is recognised by the State Education Department with classes LKG to 10th Standard. Free Midday meal is provided to all students and no Donation is collected from any one for admission. |
1975 | Sawan Public School, at Chattarpur, New Delhi was constructed on a 20 acre plot with huge financial investment. In 1993, the School was donated to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to run the same for the poor. |
1978 | Jindal Nature Cure Institute (JNI) was setup as a centre for drugless cure by naturopathy and yoga. Several diseases are treated without using any kind of allopathic medicines, injections, invasive surgeries etc. |
1980 | A high school, an industrial training institute and other institutions in village Nalwa, Haryana were started. |
1984 | INYS Medical Research Society started research activities on diabetes using naturopathy and minimising usage of drugs and medicines. |
1985 | Drinking water facilities /construction of schools in rural areas: The Foundation/Associates have also dug borewells and constructed overhead water tanks in several villages to provide safe drinking water facility to the villagers and also constructed over hundred schools in surrounding villages. |
1987 | Jindal Charitable Hospital, Rajajinagar, Bangalore, was setup by Jindal Hospital Society to serve urban-poor and lower middle class people. |
1989 | Manav Charitable Hospital (MCH), Bangalore, a full-fledged allopathic charitable hospital was setup for catering to poor patients from rural areas who avail free facility in this hospital. Free services are also given in family planning, child immunization and health education. It was renamed as Jindal Rural Charitable Hospital (JRCH) in 2011. |
1990 | Free eye operation performed for poor persons from rural areas by JRCH and eye glasses/IOL also provided free of charge in all cases. |
1993 | Book Bank Scheme:. To promote learning capacity and knowledge amongst rural school going students, the Foundation evolved a Book Bank Scheme, under which, rural schools were given useful books, including reference books for making the same available to their students. |
1994 | Sushruta Trauma Center, Delhi, a hospital was constructed on a Plot of 1.5 acres at Metcafe Road, Delhi valued at Rs.50 crores and donated to Govt of Delhi NCT. |
1995 | Gold Medal Scheme:To encourage the students to achieve excellence in education gold medals were instituted in various Universities/colleges throughout the country. |
2001 | Manav Sewa Poly Clinic, Delhi a daycare polyclinic was established at Delhi for providing medicare to the poor and downtrodden. The clinic has faciliteis for ECG, eye testing, dental, X-ray, physiotherapy and various daignostic / lab facilities. Medicines and consultation are provided free of cost to all patients. |
2003 | Mahila Art and Craft Charitable Insitute a vocational training institute, was set up especially for encouraging income generating ability of the rural under privileged women. It is located at Chikabidarkallu Village , Bangalore Rural District and runs over 10 training programmes covering tailoring, embroidery, typing , beautician & computer courses etc. |
2003 | Jindal Pre-University College (JPUC) in Bangalore was setup to cater to poor rural girl students from 100 odd villages surrounding Jindal Nagar. Education in computer science, commerce and science is being provided. |
2003 | International Conference on Yoga conducted by Jindal Naturecure Institute. |
2005 | Dispensary on wheels (Mobile Clinics) : Five Mobile medical vans (attached to the Jindal Rural Charitable Hospital) cover nearly 100 villages round the year. Free consultation and medicines are being provided to the villagers by the dedicated team of doctors and supporting staff. . |
2006 | Mammography test was made available to detect breast cancer among rural women and such cancer patients in the initial stage were operated upon in Jindal Rural Charitable Hospital, free of cost. |
2009 | Research conference on Yoga & Naturopathy held at Jindal Naturecure Institute. |
2010 | Jindal Degree College for Women (JDCW) was started purely for girls with an expected strength of 1000 in coming years. |

PG College in Naturopathy & Yoga was inaugurated and the first batch of the PG Course is planned to be started in July 2012 , with affiliation to Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences. 2014 | S R Jindal Scholarship Scheme for destitute children Launched for giving up to 1000 scholarships per year to out of school destitute children to enable them to join the education mainstream. |
