CRUSADE AGAINST CORRUPTION AND SOCIAL EVILS
In order to recognise and encourage crusaders fighting relentlessly against corruption the Foundation announced an award scheme to honour such exemplary individuals and organisation in 2011. The foundation invited nominations for 10 awards of Rs. 10 lakhs each (Total rupees one crore). An eminent jury selected 12 distinguished awardees, giving away a sum of Rs 90 lakhs as award money alongwith a citation and a memento.
Rotary Manav Sewa Awards
The Foundation has always been encouraging activities to fight corruption, in the past it generously funded the inception of a prize scheme to honour crusaders against corruption way back in 1997 called the Rotary Manav Sewa Awards. Dr. Jindal firmly believes that corruption is a cancerous disease which is eating away the progress of the country. Rotary Manav Sewa Awards have been awarded to renowned activists like Sh. Anna Hazare, Sh. Shambhu Dutt Sharma, Sh. H.D. Shourie, Sh. T.N. Chaturvedi, Justice Sh. V.R. Krishna Iyer, Sh. N.K. Singh amongst others. The winners were awarded Rs. 2 lakhs each alongwith a citation and a memento.
Crusade Against Social Evils
Alcoholism and Smoking is a major menace to society. The foundation has been contributing by creating awareness through advertisements and campaigns in public interest to create awareness amongst the masses about the ill effects and blunders created by them.
