Padma Bhushan Dr. Sitaram Jindal, ND,DSc, (founder of Jindal Aluminium Limited, and Patron & Chief Architect of the Sitaram Jindal Foundation and its associate Trusts) has always had an inner urge to serve society in different ways. Padma Bhushan Dr. Sitaram Jindal is the Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Jindal Aluminium Limited (JAL) which is the largest extruder of aluminium extrusions in India catering to over 25% of the domestic market alone, consistently maintaining an industry lead for past many decades. A philanthropist at heart Dr Jindal believes that the most practical and meaningful way to give back to the society is to bring hope to the poor and downtrodden in distress. This inner urge and his concern for economic upliftment of the disadvantaged and deprived gave birth to many schemes and institutions. Accordingly the Sitaram Jindal Foundation formerly known as S.J.Jindal Trust was established in 1969 as a charitable organisation with the objective of serving the poor and downtrodden in various fields. He is particularly concerned about the social and economic upliftment of the disadvantaged, underprivileged and dispossessed sections of the society. Dr Jindal is a firm believer in the bountifulness of nature and a Doctor of Naturopathy. This firm belief has led to the establishment of “Jindal Naturecure Institute (JNI)” Bangalore in 1979, a world renowned institute.
